Our Volunteer Needs

Funding research
-We are a non-profit organization. Our operations and projects depend entirely on donations.
-All donations are welcome, but we particularly target companies or major donors with “roots” in Pointe-Claire or links to the history of Pointe-Claire
-Organization of fundraising campaigns.

Help at booths and events (between 4 and 6 times a year)
-Kiosk installation
-Recruit new members and register them
-Sale of products (Calendar, greeting cards, brochures)
– Answer some questions
-Note that at least two persons are always paired at the kiosks
-Bilingualism is greatly appreciated but we try to match people according to their language.

Translation (from French to English)
-We send regular newsletters, press releases and various messages to our members and the community. These are usually short texts of less than one page and we must translate them.
-All our publications are also bilingual (calendars, briefs, etc.) and we must translate them, as well as the minutes of our annual meeting.
-Working from home or other place to the convenience of the volunteer

Historical and genealogical research
-Syntheses on specific topics (eg a particular family or a character). We provide notarized documents and other documents as required.
-Working from home or other place to the convenience of the volunteer
-Other possibilities: research in archives, research in microfilms (newspapers)

Logistic support

-Organization of the annual meeting and events
-Phone calls
-Recording work
-Working from home or other place to the convenience of the volunteer, where possible.
